Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
A baby was strapped to my back while another crawled around in the playground. I spent 12 hours days, for months, sanding and taking wallpaper off, all while carrying one kid. Ha! The whole thing was beginning to take shape, however it wasn't quite finished. To furnish the home, it was going to be an enormous undertaking with regards to budget and time. I would also have to do my favourite shopping. To stay within budget, I began going with my boys to estate sales in search of diamonds. The schedule we had for the week that included spending Thursday through Saturday walking around estate sales and garage sales buying old and new objects. I spent the rest of the week sanding and painting the driveway. Looked a little something like it... That's when my interest in the restoration of furniture first began. Although our house was furnished, I could not put down. In the market in town I was able to rent a tiny area and then sold a few items. I eventually had so many pieces I didn't think of a solution and I outgrew my space. I held open houses in my home where one thousand people would visit over a weekend, and visitors could buy anything from the first floor. Growing Days was created in the home. The business wasn't just flourishing, but I was also growing our sweet family as well. In a way, I was able to find the perfect way to balance being a mom as well as starting my own company. Growing Days just fit. The year 2013 was the year my daughter Nora was our fourth baby. Though I was content with the direction that my business took, I felt like I had to take some time off. I decided to put off working on my antique furniture for a few months and stay home with the kids. This was precisely what I required. However, after just a couple of minutes the phone started ringing. There were calls from people asking me to assist them in interior decor and home renovations. The majority of them were people who visited my home in my open houses for furniture. The time flew by before I managed a large-scale business for home improvement. The first step was to take clients one by one with a speed I was at ease with. I'm sure you would have amused me if you told me this would become the basis of an DIY Network tv series. As I reflect back, it still makes me smile.
